Artist Statement:

It starts with a doodle. It can be spontaneous, experimental, or naive. It can be sloppy, perfect, or make no sense at all. In one way or another, a simple line drawing can directly connect one’s mind with the physical world and place abstract ideas onto a blank surface. Pencil and paper can become endlessly imaginative and start the beginning of every masterpiece. I enjoy creating colorful and playful work that makes the observer laugh. All of these pieces displayed in this show came from simple doodles. At this point in time I feel like a living and breathing doodle – not knowing what direction my life will take me, but knowing that the possibilities are endless.
